Inbound marketing is officially taking off

In the UK at least, inbound marketing appears to be taking off. That’s the indication of a report created by Econsultancy, which found that 79% UK of companies carried out an inbound marketing strategy in 2014 (up 25% from the previous year).

Econsultancy states:

That one stat highlights how fast inbound marketing has grown in the U.K and is comparable to the U.S adoption rate of 85%

This is impressive growth when you consider the Google trend for ‘inbound marketing’ shows that interest in the term actually started in the UK much later than in the US.

Other key stats quoted by Econsultancy

1. Lead generation is the top reason for inbound marketing (one in four companies cite this reason).

2. 43% of those marketers who see a positive return on investment (ROI) are concentrating on search engine optimisation.

3. One in two companies that publish content use their staff to create it.

4. Only 13% of marketers listed ROI as a priority.

5. 29% of marketers listed establishing ROI as the top priority.
